Prenatal Yoga is a wonderful opportunity to particpate in a class that is tailored for you at this special time in your life.

In addition to the physical benefits of prenatal yoga, these classes are designed to offer you an opportunity for inward reflection,  a chance to connect with other pregnant women and ultimately prepare you for the birth on a holistic level.

Each class has a different theme with postures designed to nurture and strengthen, while relieving some of the discomfort of pregnancy. The classes include pranayama (breathing techniques), meditations to still your mind, relaxation techniques and birthing mantras.  All postures are introduced as new and the more advanced students are instructed into the extended version of the pose.  So we are all working to our own level, but together in the one class.

The classes are run in 5 week blocks.  Students can either take the course as a stand alone, or, as most students do, continue to deepen their practice in 5 week blocks throughout their pregancy.  From 35 weeks onwards if students have already completed one 5 week block students may attend on a casual basis.  Students can sign up for just Mondays or Saturdays or sign up for both.

Alison is a Registered Yoga Teacher in Australia with an Advanced Diploma in Yoga Teaching from The Australian Yoga Academy and has recently graduated with an Intermediate teaching certificate from master yogi Nicky Knoff.  Alison is qualified to teach prenatal yoga.

Classes are suitable for healthy pregnant women from conception to the birth of the baby.  Beginners to Advanced welcome.

There are toilets at the studio for your use before, during and after the class.  Yoga mats are provided, but if you have your own mat you are welcome to bring it along.  All you need is to wear clothing you can move easily in and bring a water bottle  We practise yoga in bare feet,  so no special footwear is required.

Just to let you know, we have an open door policy, so if you are ever running late you are welcome to join us.  We think it's better to get a bit of yoga than none at all.  There is always a mat out at the back of the class so if anyone is running late, they can just slip in.
